On September 14th an enthusiastic group of volunteers and members of the public attended a workshop on foraging lead by Anna Canning of Floramedica.Anna holding a sycomore leaf and talikg about the spots

Anna is an expert botanist and qualified herbalist who teaches Herbology at the Royal Botanic Gardens in Edinburgh.

The workshop began with a walk through the Park with Anna showing us some of what was directly beneath our feet, explaining the properties of plants and thier uses.

Everyone found Anna really engaging and informative  with her extensive knowledge of plants, herbal remedies and folklore.Anna in the cabin showing the attendees products made from foraged ingredients.

On returning to the Cabin Anna talked some more about the products made from foraged ingredients then we were treated to oatcakes and cheese accompanied by samples of her products. They included rowan berry jelly, elderberry balsamic, pine syrup and rose hip syrup. Finally, using ingredients supplied by Anna we all made a pot of midge cream.
