On Saturday we finally managed to hold the Rhodie bash and with the exception of some light rain as we broke for lunch the weather was kind to us this time.
Many thanks to the great group of volunteers who worked hard to clear a large area of Rhododendron ponticum helping to restore habitat and address the effects of climate change.
With such a large area cleared we didn't manage to burn it all on the day but have created a number of habitat piles with some of the cuttings.
Some pictures of volunteers at work, and enjoying a very welcome lunchbreak with baked potatoes cooked in the fire.
