BEAT AROUND THE BUSH

Volunteers wanted - free food!

We're looking for volunteers to help out at the first of two events coming up in the park. With funding from Volunteering Matters, all refreshments and lunch we will provided. If you could help with our ongoing project of removing Rhododendron ponticum then we would love to hear from youReworkJenPoster191025

These shrubs keep out the light and nutrients from our native flora, thus decreasing biodiversity in
the local area. Planted for their floral value and as ground cover for sporting shoots during the Victorian era (when Plean Country Park was a working country estate), these triffids have really got a stranglehold on the ecosystem and need to be removed!
We will cut them down by the use of hand tools – training provided - and they will then be processed into smaller pieIn the thick of itces before being offered up to the bonfire!
