Reminiscence Walks

Since June 2010 the Friends Group together with Jennifer Davidson the park's Ranger have hosted a number of walks which a variety of people have attended and provided lots of valuable information and a wonderful insight into life both in the estate and in the village during the mining years. These walks were led by Matt Benians, Landscape Architect of TGP Landscape Architects who were commissioned by Stirling Council to prepare a Masterplan for Plean Country Park. Together with the vast amount of information provided as part of this plan we have been able to build up a social history of Plean Estate and Plean Village. The memories of those who took part in the walks are particularly important as they are just that, memories, and are now on record for others to read. These anecdotes will in time appear in a series of articles on our website.
